Furious Man United fans have taken to social media to express their disdain for Cristiano Ronaldo after the superstar missed his side’s game with Fulham to ensure he’s fit for the World Cup.
Manchester United travelled to London for their Premier League clash with Fulham but Cristiano Ronaldo was missing out.
United fans have fumed online about Ronaldo not being in the squad against Fulham.
One wrote: “No Ronaldo again. Ten Hag said he was ill the other day but can’t help but think it’s something to do with Ten Hag’s comments on him being 5th choice captain. It will be best for everyone if he leaves in January now #MUFC.”
Another chimed in with: “I had 100% confidence of Ronaldo getting ill before this game. There was no change he was getting into a 50-50 duel before the World Cup. Mr professional my a***.”
A third declared: “I see Ronaldo is still pretending to be ill so he’s guaranteed to be fit for Portugal, the f***er. Luckily for us we’re a mile better without him.”
A last one stated: “Ronaldo won’t be playing today because he is ill with World Cup fever. He might have already played his last game for United. Tbh, I don’t think he will leave in January, but you never know
Indeed, manager Erik ten Hag, whose relationship with Ronaldo appears to be strained, commented on the availability of Ronaldo for the game against Fulham. He said: “I can’t guarantee that now, but today he was ill, so he can recover from that. It’s not a really serious illness that takes days or weeks. So, I think it’s possible that he’s available for Sunday.”
